Spirits Maintain Grip on Second Place as 401 Forfeits
Carrboro, N.C. - Confusion gripped Hank Anderson Park Tuesday night when not a single 401 Wayne player showed up for their 8:20 pm game against the Spirits. Luckily, a group of Street Walkin’ Cheetahs stuck around for a scrimmage and modest shenanigans.
The Town of Carrboro staff were good sports and kept the lights on after silver-tongued Spirits Manager Drew Stuck slyly sought accommodations. "Parseltongue. It gets them every time," Stuck told reporters after the scrimmage.
The forfeit brings the Spirits' record to 4 - 3, two games ahead of the Cheetahs, who now have a 2-5 record after the Fightin' Squids eked out a victory in Tuesday's 7:00 game. Squids remain undefeated and face the Spirits on Thursday, May 8, at 7:00 pm.
